Site 8: Lion Canyon

This site drains Lion Canyon, a sub-watershed of approximately 80 square miles. Most of this watershed is owned by one property owner, and is relatively pristine. Uses include cattle grazing and dude-ranch activities from the Ojai Valley County Club. The lower creek flows over mudstone and shale, and riparian vegetation appears to be fairly natural. The upper creek skirts Hwy 150 at the top of the drainage and might be a good spot for another site in the future.
