Site 9: Stewart / Fox

This site, adjacent to Site 10, is the combination of the Stewart and Fox drainages, both of which flow through western Ojai and are partially channelized through town. The creek is natural bottom at our site, but is channelized through Ojai. Dense non-native vegetation include thick Arundo, Eucalyptus, periwinkle (Vinca), and watercress, and crayfish are seen in the deeper pools. We have observed three species of native fish at this site: Arroyo chub, Steelhead trout, and Stickleback.
